in year 1941, Mr. Lim Chin Kim, Hokkien origin, proprietor of a Hardware
Firm. With his friendly and forthright character he had earned himself
admiration of others.
Sifu Lim has been a reputable Wushu
teacher for the past forty-five years. Specialized in wushu hand
and traditional Chinese weapon forms, namely ¡°Wuxing Quan¡± Five
Form Boxing Fist, ¡°Luohan Quan¡± Luohan Buddha Fist, ¡°Houxing Dong¡±
Monkey Arch Form, together with Broad Sabre, Lance, Sword, Rake,
Wooden Pole and many others.
He also has knowledge in the field
of Chinese herbal medicine and osteopathy. A benevolent man, he
often gave the needy ones free medical treatment.
Since young,
Sifu Lim had great interest in Wushu. With the influence of his
grandmother and a few uncles, who used to teach Sifu Lim a few steps
of wushu when time permitted.
In the year 1954, Sifu Lim became a student of Master MaiZhi. Master
MaiZhi had bethroned to Sifu Lim the theory and practical use of
"Zhou Jia Quan". As Sifu Lim was hard working and fast
learning, within a few years he has mastered all the "Zhou
Jia Quan" forms and technics.
In 1961, with the approval and permission from Master MaiZhi, Sifu
Lim with a few fellow students and friends decided to set up a martial
arts training school hoping the youngsters would have somewhere
to go or turn to, rather than mixing with the wrong company. The
activities promoted were for health, strength, harmony and self
defense. Sifu Lim always personally involved in the trainings had
won the villagers' hearts. Parents willingly sent their children
to the school for lessons. Sifu Lim also gave lessons to many other
students by traveling between places like Ghim Moh Village, Tempanies
and Hougang areas with his motorcycle.
With his self compose, antithetical couplet, his expression of tolerance,
mutual understanding, harmony and unification for all members in
promoting Chinese culture and wushu locally or internationally.
Today Sifu Lim supports 3 main Nia Kwang schools in Germany.

Sifu Lim supports and advises his students to expand themselves
by learning as much as possible also from other martial art systems
and schools.
On his frequent business trips to China Sifu Lim meets up with other
martial art enthusiast to exchange and further broaden his knowledge.
Many years ago Mr. Lim also learned Tai Chi Chuan from Mr. Luo Yong
Kun in Singapore and from Mr. Fu Zhong Wen in Shanghai.
Although Sifu Lim has now been practicing martial arts for over
52 years he always mentions that he has only learned a little bit
and that the road to true mastery is never ending. One must always
try to continue to improve ones skills and to stay humble.
Sifu Lim teaches his students to strive and embrace change in order
to improve.
Up to today Sifu Lim enjoys great health and fitness through his
training.
You will see Sifu Lim actively involved in every training session
by teaching forms, sparring and talking about martial art principles.
Sifu Lim's great wish is to pass on his knowledge to the next generation
in order to preserve the martial arts heritage.
